What more can we say? Today was the long awaited announcement from Nikon containing information about the release of the D4 pro camera body!
We go back and forth talking about the new specs and how they translate to us the wedding and portrait photographer. I think Kelly (as a Canon user) has finally felt the pain that we Nikon users have felt for many years now. We certainly didn’t want to piggy-back on too many others details and information but I really think it’s also worth listening to Jared Polin (Fro Know Photo) and his first had review of the new D4 along with checking out nikon usa and nikon rumours for the exact specs and details. That is after you’ve listened to us! lol
Check out these sites for sure:
You might also be asking…what happened to Episode 26? Yes, there is an episode 26 in the queue. Just like there is an episode 28 and 29 waiting to be released. All in good time. They should be on the site soon. But Carey was literally bursting at the seems about this episode, so it got a free pass to front of the line.

Silent shooting on the D4 in Live view? That sounds great for film production stills (requires absolute silience), Although 2MP is roughly 1080p, so yeah, it sounds like it just pulls a still from video which you could do with any hd cam.
The record time on the video is actually based on a limitation to the FAT32 file system used on the cards, you can’t have a file more than 4GB which with the current canon codecs (how they compress the video) hits 12minutes, and on current Nikon (eg. D7000) is 20 minutes.
Hey I was just listening to this episode, and really scratching my head, because Canon announced their major upgrade to their flagship pro camera way before the Nikon D4…. the Canon 1DX

Still a great Nikonian flavoured episode.
Yeah, I know that Canon has their 1DX, and we should talk about it too (we knew it was out when we recorded the episode, but didn’t have the specs for it handy – kinda like the dog ate my homework, huh!). Besides, Carey was so super excited about his new Nikon announcement that I decided to not steal his thunder haha.
